Nice to meet you. I am Masahiro Okazaki, a patent attorney and trademark advisor.

Currently, I specialize in trademarks and copyrights as a patent attorney.

After gaining experience in office work and sales, I started my career as a sole proprietor handling accounting and finance in 2016. During this time, I provided various management services to small and medium-sized businesses, not only accounting but also various other administrative tasks.

Many of the business challenges, especially those of a fundamental nature, are rarely standardized or known, their optimal solutions vary. I believe that solving business problems requires the full mobilization of specialists, engaging in down-to-earth dialogue, thinking, moving forward, and facing them head-on.

It is also important not to be overly constrained by existing frameworks. In my career, I have also been involved in design and organizational development, and sometimes acted as a business advisor. These experiences have instilled in me the policy of “individually understanding the unique circumstances of each company and pursuing the services that they truly need.”

Through conversations with many business owners, I have realized that the intellectual property held by each company is the source of its competitive strength. Based on this, my primary focus is on promoting the protection and utilization of intellectual property in my work as a patent attorney.

Efforts in Intellectual Property

I first recognized the profession of a patent attorney in my teens when I encountered copyright infringement issues during my music activities, which made me realize the need for knowledge in intellectual property. Later, while working as a sole proprietor, I obtained the patent attorney qualification and focused on trademark and copyright matters. Even now, I aim to be a legal professional who can support anyone starting a business, and I am always committed to my work with humility and sincerity.

Since becoming a patent attorney, I have also been involved in the activities of the Japan Patent Attorneys Association and have organized study groups to further improve my expertise as a professional in trademarks and copyrights.

"What kind of naming matches the market?" "We created a logo, but is there a better form or strategy for protecting it?" "When enforcing trademark rights, there are recent cases of controversy; what should we be careful about?" "How can we prevent imitation of newly created designs?" These are just some of the concerns I address with a sincere and personal approach, considering the perspective of the parties involved.

My Ideal Patent Attorney

I aim to be a true professional who is by the side of intellectual property from its sprouting to becoming a great tree, providing nurturing care.

Combining perspectives from law, design, and business, I strive to support companies with the protection and utilization of their design and brand, tailored to the "actual conditions" of each company, with care and sincerity.
